Joota is an interest-based social network. We put the focus on content, conversation and you. With Joota you can access any website and Joot any element in it to start a conversation or to just save for future reference.
A Joot is a Card. To Joot is to bookmark a piece of content. They could be images, videos, text, SlideShares and links found on any website.
Make sure the Jootlet is in your Bookmarks Bar. Joot On and hover over any of the objects in the website
1. Make sure your Bookmarks Toolbar is displayed.
2. Click + hold + drag + release the Jootlet into the toolbar.
Where do I find my bookmarks toolbar?
In Firefox - Display your Bookmarks Toolbar by clicking View > Toolbars > Bookmarks Toolbar
In Chrome - Display your Bookmarks Bar by clicking View > Always Show Bookmarks Bar
In Safari - Display your Bookmarks Bar by clicking View > Show Bookmarks Bar
Can I go through the basics of Joota again?
Of course, click the Get Started link in the column on the right.
How do I Joot a whole website?
Click the Jootlet (it's the Bookmark in your Bookmarks Bar that says Joot On/Off). Once activated, press SHIFT on your keyboard and a button that says "Joot this page" will appear at the top of the website. Click it.
Jooting text is very different compared to Jooting images, videos, links, websites and SlideShares. To Joot text, you need to Joot On, select the text you want to Joot and then click the J Bubble.

Can I Joot Flash content?

Can I use Joota without Jooting my content?
Yes! There are other things you can do with Joota aside from Jooting your own content. You can Joot content from other websites, check out other users' Joots, rehost other users' Joots, chat with other Jooters and more! Feel free to get creative with Joota!
Yes! The moment you Joot a piece of content it is made public. You can choose to change the privacy settings at the back of the Card.
"Rehost" is a function that allows you to host an entirely different conversation on that card and with different people.
The moment you like, save, comment, rehost or share a Joot, you auto-follow it.
Yes, you can!
Can I stop hosting a Joot?
The only way to stop hosting a Joot is to permanently remove a Joot.
Can I remove a comment in a Joot?
Yes, but only if you are a host or if it is your own comment. You can flag Joots if you can't delete them.
Flip to the back of the Joot and you'll find the Delete button. You can only delete a Joot that you host.
How do I know if someone has commented on my Joot?
You will be notified immediately and you will see your notification counter increase and change in color on the menu bar.
Do I have to create Deck?
No, but creating a Deck makes the content that you Joot more meaningful to you and to other Jooters in the Jootaverse.
Can I rearrange the sequence of my Deck?
Sorry, not at this point in time but we are working to make it happen in a future release. Stay tuned!
What happens to my Joots after a year?
They will still be there.
Can I upload photos to Joota?

What can I do on the Explore page?
You can browse other people's Joots, see what's trending, and filter results to only show what you want.
What's that yellow border around the Minicard?
When a Minicard on the Explore page has a yellow border, it means that there are people currently chatting within the Joot.
What happens to my Joots after a year?
They will remain as they are.
Why do I need to provide my Gender, Year of Birth, Country and Zip/Postcode when signing up?
Joota requires all users to provide their real gender, year of birth, country and zip/postcode to prove that you are a real person and provide content that's better customized for you. This information will be hidden from your profile and its use is governed by our Privacy Policy.
Does it cost anything to join?
No, Joota is free.
Does my Joota data appear on Facebook?
Joota allows users to log in via Facebook. By default, we do not post any content from Joota into your Facebook stream. If you choose, you can post content to Facebook using the share via Facebook feature in Joota.
Why haven't you added features commonly used in social networking and search sites?
Joota is not meant to replace existing full-featured search and social networking tools.
Why isn't Joota available in my country?
We are currently limiting access to USA and Malaysia to test the waters. Don't worry, we do plan to scale and provide more access in other countries in the months to come.
